How to complete The Tale of Rowland Oakes
In Hogwarts Legacy, The Tale of Rowland Oakes is one of the first missions that will require you to decipher a strange map.
While plenty of the maps in Hogwarts Legacy are just found sitting around, this mission will be given to you by a student at Hogwarts early in the game.

How to get
The Tale of Rowland Oakes

To start The Tale of Roland Oakes, speak to Adelaide Oakes in the Transfiguration Courtyard. You’ll be able to start the quest when you’ve reached level 10 and you’ve completed the main quest, The Helm of Urtkot.
The Tale of Rowland Oakes map solution
Once you get the quest you’ll be directed to a campsite that is now overrun by goblins. Defeat them all and pick up the clues left by Rowland Oakes.
The map you pick up is pointing you to a small settlement down the river to the west. It’s named Korrow Ruins and has a Floo location associated with it.
If you’ve never been before, you can see on our map above how to find it, simply fly to the area, and you’ll be greeted with even more enemies. Once you’ve taken all of them down, head inside the outpost and search for Rowland.
You’ll have to take down some more enemies before handing Rowland his wand back and completing The Tale of Rowland Oakes quest.

- Head to Rowland Oakes campsite in The Forbidden Forrest
- Defeat the goblins ad find the map
- Follow the map to Korrow Ruins in the far west of the map
- Fight your way through the outpost to free Rowland Oakes
